Choose an Exit by Use Case
Start with the target service, not the route name. Identify the region you need, whether the task requires a persistent connection, and whether you will switch between multiple services. Then choose the exit and route type. The sequence below applies to Windows, macOS, iOS, Android, and Linux.
BROWSE
Everyday Browsing
Web browsing depends mainly on consistent responses and regional matching. Start with a nearby exit, then check commonly used websites, search services, and image-heavy pages. If a nearby direct connection is stable, there is no need to connect through another region for the label alone. If initial page loads are inconsistent, compare transit routes in the same region.
Everyday browsing often involves multiple websites. An exit far from the locations of your usual services may trigger changes in language, currency, or content region. Keep one familiar region as the default exit and switch only for services tied to a specific region, reducing repeated changes to sessions and regional detection.
MEDIA
Streaming
Streaming first depends on the exit region recognized by the content platform. Choose a route matching the account’s content region, then check the catalog, available quality settings, and continuous playback. “Supported” in the table means the region has an entry point for streaming use; it does not mean every account will show the same content.
Avoid switching exits frequently after playback begins. A regional change may trigger session verification, and the playlist may change as well. For longer viewing sessions, compare an IEPL route with a transit route in the same region. Direct connections can suit content regions that are geographically closer and have clearer public-network paths.
AI TOOLS
AI Tools
AI Tools often use web sessions, continuous output, file uploads, and API requests at the same time. Give priority to consistent exit regions and persistent-connection performance. Once connected, stay in the same region and avoid switching routes during a conversation, upload, or development task, as the session region may change.
For web-based use, start by testing a nearby transit route. For sustained calls, coding assistance, or longer content generation, compare it with an IEPL route in the same region. If a tool has a specific regional requirement, choose that country or region directly rather than replacing the target exit with a closer route.
GAME
Gaming
Gaming starts with identifying the game server’s region. An exit closer to the game service will generally help avoid unnecessary cross-region paths, but results still depend on the local access network and the game’s own network architecture. Choose the route before logging in and keep the connection unchanged throughout a complete match or session.
Test a transit route in the target region first, then compare it with a direct connection in the same region. An IEPL route suits persistent sessions in environments where public-route fluctuations are noticeable. Route selection can optimize transmission paths, but it cannot change game-server status, matchmaking, or local wireless quality.
OFFICE
Remote Work
Work tasks may include video meetings, remote desktops, shared documents, code repositories, and enterprise systems. Prefer a fixed exit near the location of your work services and check the connection before a meeting or remote session begins. For longer tasks, an IEPL route or a transit route with a clear path is generally better suited to maintaining the session.
If your team systems use the exit region for login checks, avoid switching regions during work. Validate file synchronization and web access separately: a page loading normally does not mean large transfers or remote desktops will perform equally well. Judge the route by the complete workflow.
